MESSAGE
In almost every nation, taxes are by far the most significant source of
income for the government. India's taxation environment has
undergone a significant transformation in recent years. A wide range
of initiatives and reforms are being implemented which are directed
to bolster investment and performance in manufacturing, exports,
services and the economy at large. The strategic imperatives for the
success of the tax function include integrating people, procedures,
and technology.
As reported by Finance Ministry, India's Direct Tax collections, between April 1, 2022,
and February 10, 2023, rose 24.09% to Rs. 15.67 lakh crore. Also, the GST collections
for the month of April 2023 at Rs 1.87 lakh crore, the highest ever. The aforesaid
collections represent significant efforts of Chartered Accountants and other
professionals throughout the country.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has been actively providing
requisite platforms to its members whereby they can build their build their
capacities and upgrade their knowledge which shall ultimately be helpful in guiding
the stakeholders in the best manner possible.
I am happy to note that the Indore Branch of CIRC of ICAI is organizing Two Days
National Tax Conference with the theme “Knowledge, Network, Transform”from
13th-14thMay 2023 at Indore. The said conference is being done jointly in
association with All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (CZ) and the Tax
Practitioners' Association, Indore. The conference aims to provide a platform
whereby all the matters of prominent and recent concerns shall be discussed and
deliberated to enrich the knowledge of members.
My compliments to the Chairman, Vice-Chairman,members of the Managing
Committee of the Indore Branch organizing this conference for their dedicated
efforts involved therein.
I am hopeful that the delegates will find the conference knowledge enriching and
true to its objective. I wish the conference a grand success.
